Gala dinner

The SPHERIC 2017 gala dinner will take place on Wednesday June 14th 2017 20:30 pm, at the monumental state hotel (“Parador”) in the Monastery of “Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil“.

Ourense stands as a destination for cultural and green tourism, as a perfect starting point to discover Galicia, a vibrant mix of history and nature. The area surrounding Ourense has impressive examples of Romanesque architecture: places as the Ribeira Sacra, a group of astonishing canyons formed by rivers Miño and Sil, hide up to 18 medieval monasteries, such as San Estevo de Ribas de Sil, nowadays luxury hotel. The Ribeira Sacra is also a recognized wine-making region, one of the four protected apellation of origin that Ourense gathers, making it also an important destination for culinary tourism. Besides great wines, the area is famous for its free-range vegetables, pork products, chestnuts (in preparations such as marron glacè) and the octopus, cooked in huge copper pots and seasoned with olive oil and paprika.
