SPH Training Day

Supplementary to the workshop, a Training Day is offered on the Monday 12th of June, 2017 between 09:30 and 16:30. The training is most suitable for researchers who are familiar with the principles of SPH but are beginning their work in the field. More experienced SPH developers and users may find that the training day is a useful opportunity for sharing insights and ideas.

The training day is structured as follows:

09:30-10:00 Registration
10:00-11:00 Introduction talk (1st part): “SPH basis, current developments and limitations” by Dr. Benedict D. Rogers (The University of Manchester, UK)
11:00-11:30 Coffee break
11:30-12:30 Introduction talk (2nd part): “SPH basis, current developments and limitations”
12:30-13:00 Introduction to “Simulation and Postprocessing” by Dr. Alex Crespo (Universidade de Vigo, Spain)
13:00-14:30 Lunch
14:30-17:00 Simulation and Postprocessing

The afternoon session will be devoted to execution, visualization and analysis of SPH data, based upon practical examples in the open-source SPH solver DualSPHysics. This session will be organized by the DualSPHysics team.

The Training Day additional fee is 50 € (coffee break and lunch included). Participants have to register online on the Registration and Payment section.

The Training Day will be held at the School of Aerospace Engineering, in “Pavillón Manuel Martínez-Risco”, Campus As Lagoas s/n, 32004, Ourense, SPAIN.
